About Soma Skool

Soma Skool is an event designed to demystify the mechanics behind the music and creative industries. Based on a concept explaining how to turn a demo CD into a final release, the Soma Skool invites the best producers, artwork designers, and music experts along to explain the processes involved in order to shed light on the inner workings of the music industry.

Involving a variety of topics and issues within the music industry the Soma Skool offers, music and software demos from Soma producers, compelling Q & A sessions from top DJ's and bands, informative and experienced panellists and first-rate advice from professionals all working at the top of their trade.

Soma Skool Aims to:

Soma Skool 2008 funded by the Youth Music Initiative of the Scottish Arts Council, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City Council Sports and Culture Department and Careers Scotland.

Podcast

In March 2006 another successful Soma Skool event was held in The Arches, Glasgow and for the first time all the demos, seminars and presentations were recorded to be brought together as a Podcast.

A Podcast is essentially an online radio show that you can subscribe to and automatically download new episodes each week. You don't need an iPod or any other MP3 player, just software that supports Podcasts.
